Make a general donation
You can make a general donation at any time. General donations fund new equipment and small capital projects to help improve services. Your donation will be directed to the area of greatest need as identified by the Executive Directors and the Chief Executive Officer. This does not include operational expenses, for which we receive government funding.
Homelessness Support
Homelessness and the risk of homelessness has a profound effect on a person’s life. It impacts on people’s mental and physical health, education, employment opportunities, connection to community, and their ability to fully participate in society.
Dhelkaya Health’s Housing Support team works directly with homeless people living in our local shire. We connect them with support services and provide equipment such as swags and phones to help them stay safe and connected.
By donating to us, you’re helping to directly fund the purchase of this equipment to help improve people’s dignity, health and safety.

Residential Aged Care - Castlemaine Campus
In Castlemaine our three residential aged care facilities offer personalised care for each resident’s needs.
Residences are connected communities supported by caring and qualified staff. Our priority is to support wellbeing with social activities, outings, dining experiences and classes. We look for new ways to offer enjoyment and improve quality of life.
Your donation will support equipment upgrades, wellbeing and quality of life.
Please note: When making your donation, please indicate which facility you wish to support by adding Thompson House, or Ellery House or Penhall.
Therapeutic playground
In 2025, the focus of our fundraising will be raising money for a therapeutic playground.
A therapeutic playground is a specially designed outdoor space that promotes physical, emotional, and social development through play.
These playgrounds often incorporate various elements aimed at enhancing sensory experiences, motor skills, and social interaction. Key features might include:
- Inclusive equipment: Structures that accommodate children of all abilities, including those with disabilities.
- Sensory areas: Spaces that engage the senses, such as tactile panels, musical instruments, and textured pathways.
- Nature elements: Incorporating natural features like trees, gardens, and water play to encourage exploration and creativity.
- Social interaction zones: Areas designed to foster collaboration and communication among children, promoting teamwork and social skills.
Safe environment: Soft surfaces and secure boundaries to ensure safety while children play and explore.
Therapeutic playgrounds are used in various settings, including schools, therapy centers, and community parks, to support children’s overall well-being and development.
Equipment Appeal 2024
With our 2024 appeal we aimed to raise funds to help ensure our outpatient rehabilitation team have the very latest equipment they need to deliver exceptional care to you and your community.
Maldon residents cycle without age
A big shout-out to Maldon Cycling whose donations purchased a Trishaw for the residents at Maldon Hospital. Their commitment to Maldon Hospital has created a wonderful new experience for residents to enjoy.
The wonderful Cycling Without Age Castlemaine chapter are providing Pilots for the Trishaw and working to attract more volunteers for the Maldon site to undergo Pilot training.
Together our community can achieve incredible results!
Community Fundraising
Be a community fundraiser
Dhelkaya Health relies on support of community networks and community fundraisers.
If you want to make a difference to the challenges in health and wellbeing here in our rural community, running a community fundraiser is a great way to help. We’d love to support you to fundraise on our behalf in the community.
If you’d like to run your own community fundraiser, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with your ideas and to discuss the areas of greatest need.
Run The Maine 2024
Behind the scenes of his incredible community health and wellbeing event is a dedicated team of volunteers from our local community.
In 2024 these dedicated volunteers helped raise an incredible $40k for Dhelkaya Health.Â
Thank you to Run The Maine’s volunteer committee, the Rapid Relief team and all the runners and walkers who took part on the day.Â
Murray to Moyne 2024
Thank you our community fundraisers the Castlemaine Rouleurs for another great contribution to the Equipment Appeal.
Thanks to you we have raised the funds for the Community Rehabilitation Clinic exercise bikes – one recumbent and the other step through.
Both have terrific new designs that make them easy to use and get great results for our clients. Love your work!
Bequests and In Memoriam Gifts
In Memoriam Gifts
When you are marking the passing of a loved one with a memorial or funeral service, you may wish to add to their legacy by making a contribution to our local health services to benefit the communities of Mount Alexander.
We can arrange for special donation forms to be made available for the occasion so guests, friends and family may, if they wish, make a donation in lieu of flowers.
To discuss your arrangements please contact us.
Why contacting us is important
Contacting our staff ensures that we are able to provide you with security that your legacy is managed with regard to your wishes. It helps ensure that it achieves your intended purpose in regard to the location, service or program you wish to support. You can also choose to leave a legacy to the area of greatest need at the time your bequest is realised.
By contacting us, we are able to provide more information about the options available for your support.
We recommend that you consider seeking independent legal advice and discussing your wishes with family and loved ones.
Leaving a Bequest
Bequests are often referred to as Planned Giving, although the subject can be challenging, most of us know that in death we can often make a greater gift to causes we care about than when we were alive. Giving this some thought means you can have a significant and lasting impact on your community.
Types of Bequests
There are different forms of bequests which you can discuss with your solicitor. These include:
- a specified percentage of the residue of your estate after you first provide for loved ones
- a specific dollar amount, property or assets
- the whole, or a specified percent, of your estate
- details of particular asset (for example, shares, which will not incur capital gains).
Please use the ABN 93 073 879 138 to correctly identify Dhelkaya Health as the organisation of your choice.
If you would like to speak with us, your no obligation enquiry will be managed sensitively, confidentially and ethically.
