Reconciliation Action Plan
As outlined in our Reconciliation Action Plan, one of our deliverable outcomes in 2024–25 is to research best practice and policies in areas of race relations and anti-racism, as well as providing a diverse and inclusive environment.
- Advocating for First Nations’ needs
- Liaise with local community services
- Provide support and information for Aboriginal people that enter the Dhelkaya Health service
- Encourage a culturally welcoming and sensitive environment at Dhelkaya Health
- Provide a link between the medical teams, the patient and their families during admissions and time in the hospital
- Provide education and promotion of Aboriginal health and wellbeing throughout the hospital
- Attend family meetings to provide support and assistance so patients and their families can make informed decisions about treatment, prevention and rehabilitation.
