Maternity Services Clients
If you, your partner or your baby identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, you may have an Aboriginal Health Liaison Officer or other support person with you throughout your pregnancy, labour and birth and early parenting. Your views, beliefs and values will be heard, understood and respected at all times. Visit our Maternity Services to learn more.

How to access this service
For privacy reasons, patients must request or agree to a referral to the Aboriginal Health Liaison team. Please tell your nursing staff or doctor you would like a referral to be sent or make it known during the admission process.
What can I do about transport?
If you need transport to and from Dhelkaya Health, we can provide taxi vouchers.
Dhelkaya Health cares for you!
Dhelkaya Health supports patients who identify as being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander when they enter our hospital. We also provide support to their families during their stay.
Reconciliation & anti-racism
As outlined in our Reconciliation Action Plan, one of our deliverable outcomes in 2024–25 is to research best practice and policies in areas of race relations and anti-racism, as well as providing a diverse and inclusive environment.
