The construction of Dhelkaya Health’s $4 million Community Health & Learning Hub, supported by the Victorian Government, is well underway.
The construction work is scheduled to conclude mid-year and we expect to welcome students into the Hub by late 2025. The state-of-the-art facility will provide training for the next generation of healthcare professionals, encouraging them to live, learn, and work locally in regional Victoria.
Designed by award-winning Architectus and built by the Indigenous-owned Barpa Construction Services, this project reflects our commitment to community development, skill-building, and creating a sustainable future for regional communities.
Maree Edwards MP, along with a contingent of representatives from Bendigo TAFE, Mount Alexander Shire Council and Dhelkaya Health, participated in a formal announcement earlier this week, including a smoking ceremony by Uncle Rick Nelson. The project plan sees the most disruptive demolition work to be completed by end of this week, with another week or so to follow before the bulk of demolition work is complete.
Dhelkaya Health CEO Sue Race said: “We are thrilled to see the construction of the Health and Learning Hub underway, marking a major milestone in our journey to enhance healthcare training and workforce development in the region.
“Together with Bendigo TAFE, we are building a sustainable, skilled workforce that can provide high-quality care to our communities for years to come.”
