12 May, on International Nurses Day, Dhelkaya Health proudly acknowledged and celebrated the vital contribution of nursing staff across its Castlemaine, Maldon and Tarrengower campuses.
To recognise the occasion, staff gathered for a lunchtime BBQ at the Castlemaine campus and an afternoon tea at Maldon Hospital, providing an opportunity to thank nurses for their dedication, compassion and commitment to caring for the community.
Dhelkaya Health nurses work across a wide range of services including residential aged care, urgent care, acute care, rehabilitation, allied health, district nursing, community outreach, infection prevention and control, staff wellbeing, education and more. Their professionalism, empathy and care are at the heart of the services delivered every day.
A huge thank you to the Castlemaine Rotary Club for cooking and serving lunch at Castlemaine and for their ongoing support of Dhelkaya Health. We are incredibly grateful for their generosity and community spirit.
One Rotary volunteer, Rita, who is also a Dhelkaya Health nurse, reflected on the day by acknowledging the nursing leaders and peers who approached her during the BBQ to thank her for both her contribution to nursing and her volunteering efforts to help make the celebration special for everyone.
Dhelkaya Health extends its sincere thanks to all nursing staff for the extraordinary work they do each day to support patients, residents, clients and the broader community.
