Last year’s 10 year anniversary saw the enormously successful Run the Maine raising $14,000 for Castlemaine Health. Founding Director Libby Mayes and the committee were thrilled that these funds were to be used to replace the well-loved bedside lockers in the Acute Ward at Castlemaine Health.
There has been a buzz on the Acute Ward over the past weeks as the new bedside lockers have been rolled into place. Our heartfelt thanks go out to everyone involved with Run the Maine for their tireless work to boost our community’s health and wellbeing, and enhance the equipment and facilities at Castlemaine Health.
In the past year, Libby Mayes stepped down as Director and the Committee welcomed Gavin Krasner to the role. Ian Fisher, Castlemaine Health CEO, was delighted to welcome Gavin to Castlemaine Health to show him the new bedside lockers.
Ian said: “The generosity of those who are part of this event simply cannot be understated. It’s entirely thanks to them that we’ve been able to purchase equipment to help care for sick babies, refurbish our birthing suite to give new parents a more comfortable stay and offer state-of-the-art gym equipment to improve rehabilitation outcomes. And that’s just in the last few years. I’m really looking forward to working with Run the Maine’s talented new Director and I’d encourage everyone who hasn’t yet experienced this fun and family-friendly event to get involved.”
This year’s Run the Maine will have a brand new format with the Committee unveiling a twilight Run the Maine on Friday 27 September (public holiday Grand Final eve). For all details and to register visit https://runthemaine.org.
