The new menu at the Dhelkaya Health cafeteria meets the Victorian Healthy Choices directive and starts early September with plenty of delicious new options to try.
A trial period will be held during the first week with the new menu; September 4th to 8th. The trial week will be your opportunity to provide feedback through a suggestion box or Survey Monkey.
Roland Favre says that “new items include a teriyaki salmon bake, poached chicken in plum sauce, pork chow mien, chickpea fritters, a sweet and sour chicken stir-fry, Ajvar wraps and a tuna and tomato bake”.
“Some items we have already introduced, such as the Vegan cup and breakfast toasties. Contrary to our expectations these have been immensely popular.”
“Staff who are ‘Gluten free’ and ‘Dairy free’ will be able to enjoy our new Banana and blueberry muffins. Other new snack options will include yoghurts, nuts and a gluten free savory muffin.”
We’ll also be introducing a Turkish Kisir salad, a Roast Pumpkin and Chickpea Salad and a Rice Salad with Roasted Tomatoes, as a staff survey in 2022 found our staff are very interested in more salads here.”
“Other recipes have been modified to meet the requirement without losing flavor.”
The Victorian Government ‘Healthy Choices directive’, mandates all public health facilities to increase opportunity and choice for their staff and visitors to access healthy food and drink options.
