At Castlemaine Health we recognise that everyone is unique and we pride ourselves on delivering personalised, tailored healthcare. In larger hospitals, people can sometimes feel like ‘just a number’ but our patients enjoy the full confidence and assurance of knowing that they’re always at the centre of our attention and care.
Our maternity suite attracts women looking for a calm, home-like space that helps them feel safe, in control and respected.
We have 24-hour urgent care, along with two operating theatres for general surgery, ear/nose/throat, orthopaedic, gynaecological, plastics and reconstructive, urological and ophthalmological surgery. We were also one of Australia’s first healthcare providers to offer cataract patients the only intraocular lens implant that returns the full range of high-quality vision after cataract surgery.
Our community services provide district nursing services, health independence programs and palliative care. Our rehabilitation centre offers treatment in continence, dietetics, occupational therapy, podiatry, social work and counselling, speech pathology and physiotherapy. We also train and educate nursing and allied students who share our passion for improving lives.
In residential aged care, we’ve created a close-knit community where residents enjoy being able to make their own lifestyle choices. They maintain vibrant, social relationships with the local community and build new ones while being supported by caring, local staff who make it feel like home.
We offer activity and social groups for adults living with a disability and respite for carers.
Families with a child under school age with a developmental delay or disability can take part in early intervention for home visits, playgroups, individual therapy, parent groups and support during transition to school. Our Children’s Centre offers speech therapy for children aged 0-6 and physiotherapy, occupational therapy, podiatry, dietetics and continence services for children from infancy to the end of primary school. Our paediatrician visits every four weeks.
Our hospital has been serving the Castlemaine community for over 165 years and we are proud to continue a long tradition of improving local people’s lives.
