Historical Jubillee church in Chewton

Chewton Historical Walking Tour

Dhelkaya Health’s monthly Walking Tours program comes to Chewton on Thursday, 31 October with historical information from lifetime Chewton locals Elaine Appleton and Glen Braybrook.

Meet at what was previously the Chewton General Store, directly across the road from Chewton’s Memorial Park for a gentle one-hour stroll which starts at 9.30am.

Participants will see the former Jubilee Primitive Methodist Church, which is the only one of its kind left standing in the world, and hear about the big flood in 1889 where two people lost their lives.

Bookings are not required; participants can just turn up. The event will be cancelled if there is heavy rain at the time of the walk.
