Guildford Grumpies support Maldon Hospital

The Guildford Grumpies, a much-loved local car club, have once again demonstrated their unwavering commitment to supporting their community, with a generous donation to Maldon Hospital, a campus of Dhelkaya Health.

Based in the heart of Guildford, the Grumpies are a spirited group of locals from across the Mount Alexander Shire – and beyond. With a shared passion for classic cars, camaraderie, and community, the group has made it their mission to drive positive change across the region through regular fundraising and social events.

This year, the Club proudly announced Maldon Hospital as a new annual recipient of its charitable giving, recognising the important role the hospital plays in the lives of local residents—including many members of the Grumpies themselves.

“We’re proud to support the Maldon Hospital and to formally commit to them as an annual recipient of our fundraising efforts,” said Steve Cole, Secretary of the Guildford Grumpies. “Many of our members are Maldon locals, and this donation reflects both our appreciation and our belief in strong, locally accessible health and aged care.”

Funds raised through events such as the popular Peter Turner Show and Shine—a crowd-favourite among local car lovers—help fuel the Grumpies’ donations to causes across the region. In addition to health services, the Club supports everything from school fees at Guildford Primary School to national disaster relief efforts like Need for Feed and BlazeAid.

Operating out of their home base, The Grumpy Garage, the Guildford Grumpies also run a Men’s Shed Program, continuing through the winter months to foster social connection, skill-sharing, and wellbeing among local men.

“The Grumpies are more than just a car club—we’re a group that values community above all else,” Steve added. “Our efforts wouldn’t be possible without the ongoing support of the wider community, and we thank everyone who continues to get behind what we do.” Dhelkaya Health is grateful for the commitment from The Guildford Grumpies for this annual donation.  “We are thrilled to accept the donation from the Grumpies” said Dhelkaya Health CEO, Sue Race this week, “for a small group, from a small community, they are making sizeable impacts, and we are grateful that they have chosen Maldon Hospital as one of their recipients”.
