Local Castlemaine businessman Ken Grimes of KW Grimes and Associates has arranged as a member of Count Charitable Foundation to donate $2500 to the Murray to Moyne fundraiser for Castlemaine Health.
Mr Grimes said that the Count Charitable Foundation was established to support local charitable organisations and that he was delighted to be able to facilitate the donation.
Castlemaine Health’s Chief Executive Officer Ian Fisher said: “We are very grateful that Ken chose to nominate Castlemaine Health for this significant donation. It means we’re just that bit closer to being able to purchase new equipment to better support our patients.”
All Murray to Moyne fundraising efforts are going towards purchasing a new electrocardiogram (ECG) machine and carbon dioxide (CO2) monitor. Both are vital parts of the hospital’s acute ward and theatre equipment.
Murray to Moyne fundraising began with the charity cycle ride in April, where team captain Gary Bunn led the Castlemaine Roulers on their 520km ride from Echuca to Port Fairy. Since then, the Castlemaine Roulers have been working tirelessly on sausage sizzles in Mostyn Street, pie nights, raffle and other fundraising activities.
Castlemaine’s Theatre Royal also stepped in to help bolster efforts this week by hosting a special documentary screening of ‘Le Ride’ and Castlemaine’s favourite local rag, the Castlemaine Mail, also supported the event with their coverage.
It’s not too late to help raise money for this great cause. Donations can be made over the phone by calling 5471 1555 or visit https://www.givenow.com.au/m2m2017.
