Murray to Moyne teams ride to success

The 2019 Murray to Moyne cycle relay was once again a huge success thanks to 34 dedicated riders from two teams, the Castlemaniacs and the Castlemaine Rouleurs.

This year both teams rode for Castlemaine Health, hitting the road in a weekend back in April. In total the riders covered 530km on their ride from Echuca to Port Fairy.

It was a fantastic effort from the two teams, who together raised $24, 826. The money raised will go directly towards purchasing new equipment that will enhance services available from right across Castlemaine Health.

Ian Fisher, CEO of Castlemaine Health said: “This year the riders’ fundraising efforts will benefit patients and outpatients in a variety of departments. This includes a CTG machine in our Maternity Ward, a Steady Sarah and Patient Scales in Subacute, a Lymphoedema Pump in our Community Rehabilitation Centre, and four Infrared Temporal Scanners in Urgent Care, Theatre, Acute and Subacute.”

“Since our Murray to Moyne riders began cycling for us in 1992, they’ve raised more than $623,037 for the hospital, which is an incredible achievement. We are extremely grateful for all their efforts and hard work every year. The upgrades and improvements have benefited everyone who has needed our services, and those around them.”

The staff and volunteers at Castlemaine Health extend their heartfelt thanks to our wonderful sponsors and the community for the continued amazing support of the Murray to Moyne fundraising efforts in 2019. It is truly appreciated.
