Dhelkaya Health’s volunteer led Nordic Walking program continues on Wednesday evenings, and new participants are encouraged to apply now.
Group participants meet at Maldon Railway Station at 4.30pm each Wednesday during the Victorian School term, with the first session meeting on July 17th.
Maldon local Graham Bradshaw is a Dhelkaya Health volunteer who has been trained to teach Nordic Walking, and support ongoing participants with adjustments to their technique. Graham Bradshaw started Nordic Walking about five years ago, and over time his enthusiasm for Nordic Walking has grown.
“I love the feeling of doing Nordic Walking properly, and the ease with which it allows you to walk with a pack.”, said Graham.
“My general walking and fitness have improved, and Nordic Walking is also maintaining my leg strength and general fitness.”, said Graham.
“I see participants with improved confidence in walking, and some are even surprised that they are walking so far.”
Nordic poles are available for participants to use during the sessions, and there is no cost for this program.
Bookings are absolutely essential as classes are kept purposely small to maximise safety for participants.
