Performer, Liz Stringer supporting local housing services

Dhelkaya Health is pleased to announce an exciting partnership with contemporary Australia songwriter and musician, Liz Stringer who will be performing at Castlemaine’s Theatre Royal as part of her national To Survive Tour.

“As an artist who’s toured all corners of Australia for many years now, the growing wealth disparity and impact of the housing crisis in this country has never been more obvious to me” said Liz.

“Housing is a human right and yet, because of years of policy decisions and a lack of forward thinking, an increasing number of Australians are either already homeless or experiencing chronic housing insecurity. It’s never sat right with me that a country as rich as Australia should allow a section of its constituents to live so precariously while others become more and more wealthy. I’m helping to facilitate my audience to support their communities in the hope that it further shines a bright light on the issues facing vulnerable Australians everywhere. Homelessness and housing stress can impact anyone at any time and, I feel that I have a social responsibility to communities, who have been so good to me over the years, to provide support for those people where I can”.

Liz explains “If people have the means to contribute, I have selected a support service doing incredible work locally for each destination on the To Survive Tour. At each show there will be an opportunity to donate, to meet the people behind the organisations, and to talk about ways you can lend support.”

Liz has chosen Dhelkaya Health’s Housing Services as her charity partner for this November Castlemaine concert.

Dhelkaya Health CEO, Sue Race said “While the housing crisis is a challenge faced across the nation, today we turn our attention to what’s happening right here in the Mount Alexander Shire. At Dhelkaya Health, we are committed to addressing homelessness in our community. By working in collaboration with local and regional partners, we want to ensure that vital services are accessible and coordinated. Together, we can create real change for those with housing challenges and support a healthier, more connected community for all. We are so grateful for Liz Stringer’s offer to raise awareness of our work and the supports and advocacy we provide”.

Liz is revered equally for her rock stylings, her ballads and a world-class storytelling ability, making her a creative powerhouse in Australian music.  Tickets are on sale now through http://www.oztix.com.au
