Telstra upgrade scheduled for 24 March

Telstra is moving their current ISDN service to a new SIP service throughout Australia.

The upgrade for Castlemaine Health is scheduled to take place between 5pm and 7pm on Tuesday 24 March 2020.

When this occurs, all Castlemaine Health phone numbers will be moved from the current ISDN service to the new SIP service. External calls on landlines from Castlemaine Health may not be possible for a brief amount of time during the switchover.

To minimise any potential impact on our services, Testra will move the telephone numbers in blocks of 100 numbers at a time. The number ranges affected are 5471 3000 to 5471 3999.

Phone diversions cannot be used during the switchover. This is because the numbers are being moved from one system to another.

However, to ensure service continuity each block of 100 numbers will only be off air for two minutes. Staff will have access to mobile phones at all times should an emergency arise.

Our IT department are continuing to explore additional risk management strategies in the lead-up to the switchover.

If you are concerned about how this may affect you, please contact Public Relations.
