Castlemaine Health will shortly commence a major infrastructure project to create better access for patients and visitors.
The project will see construction of a brand new carpark area directly outside the Main Reception in Odgers Road. Four accessible carparks have been included in the design. The works will also include removal and refurbishment of existing support buildings, and construction new replacement buildings to house those functions and create space for the carpark.
The works will vastly improve access to Castlemaine Health for patients and visitors, particularly those with mobility issues. The project is expected to run from November 2019 to December 2020.
The project is being funded by a $1.48m Regional Health Infrastructure Fund from the Victorian State Government announced in September 2018 by Maree Edwards MP.
While the work is underway, some pedestrian and vehicle access routes will be affected. Alternative routes will be clearly signed and all efforts made to minimise disruption while these important improvements are taking place.
