A recommendation in the final report of Castlemaine Health’s Maternity Services Review focused on ‘partnering with the community’.

A new Maternity Services Consumer Committee has been created to enable the community to be directly involved in developing the maternity service. Committee members will be a valuable link to our community and help achieve consensus on how maternity care is delivered.

The Maternity Services Consumer Committee will advise the Maternity Services Governance Group on consumer experience, consumer participation and community engagement.

CEO Ian Fisher said: “This is a unique opportunity to be actively involved in developing and implementing a new model of maternity care for our much-loved local maternity service.”
